Urgensi Pendidikan Tinggi untuk Polisi

Kesenjangan pemahaman teori hukum pidana dan hukum acara pidana antara Aparat Penegak Hukum yang terdiri dari Polisi, Jaksa, Hakim dan Advokat kerap terjadi secara praktik mengingat terjadi ketidakseimbangan sumber pengetahuan antara polisi dan Aparat Penegak Hukum lainnya. Polisi bersumber dari akademi dan sekolah kedinasan yang berorientasi pada penerapan praktik dalam ruang lingkup paling tinggi sarjana terapan, sedangkan Aparat Penegak Hukum lainnya bersumber dari pendidikan tinggi hukum dalam ruang lingkup strata sarjana yang mengutamakan pemahaman teoretik. Polisi sebagai alat negara yang berfungsi dalam penegakan hukum tidak menerima sumber pengetahuan yang setara dengan Aparat Penegak Hukum lainnya. Kesenjangan ini berakibat pada pencari keadilan yang kerap menjadi korban dalam ketidakseimbangan relasi ini. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian normatif, dengan pendekatan konseptual, pendekatan perundang-undangan dan pendekatan perbandingan. Hasil dari penelitian adalah perlunya konsep holistik untuk mendorong proses pendidikan tinggi bagi kepolisian dalam rangka mendorong pemenuhan prinsip keseimbangan peran dalam sistem peradilan pidana yang bertujuan mewujudkan keadilan bagi masyarakat.
