Using panel data from companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) between 2019 and 2022, the research investigates how political connections influence tax avoidance practices, particularly during times of financial distress. The findings reveal that politically connected firms engage in significantly higher levels of tax avoidance, leveraging their ties to exploit regulatory gaps. Financial distress exacerbates this behavior, as firms adopt aggressive tax strategies to manage cash flow challenges. Furthermore, politically connected companies exhibit abnormal cash flow patterns, such as delayed tax payments and strategic deferrals, to optimize their financial position. The study highlights the critical role of political connections in enabling tax avoidance and underscores the need for stronger regulatory frameworks to ensure fair tax enforcement. The research calls for policy reforms to enhance transparency, strengthen audits, and reduce the influence of political ties on tax compliance, ensuring long-term fiscal sustainability and economic growth.

2024-09-25T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 https://proceeding.unmuhjember.ac.id/index.php/issh/article/view/651 Higher Education And Its Ongoing Role In An Increasingly Turbulent World 2024-12-28T04:03:37+07:00 Chris Rudd OBE [email protected]
The period 2020-24 has seen global disruption on a scale that is unprecedented in lived experience for most global citizens. The unholy trinity of public health crisis, climate change and geopolitical conflict has challenged the global order and opened the door in some regions for political and social change that would have been unimaginable a decade ago. Localized approaches in these countries demonstrate the potential of
aligning community-driven initiatives with global SDG objectives to achieve sustainable
and inclusive development. Uzbekistan has prioritized community-based tourism in
Samarkand and agricultural innovation, fostering economic diversification, cultural
preservation, and poverty reduction. Meanwhile, Indonesia’s focus on vocational
training and the digital economy has addressed skill gaps, reduced unemployment, and
promoted economic resilience. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study combines
qualitative insights from stakeholders with quantitative analysis of socio-economic
indicators and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping. Results highlight
significant progress in poverty reduction, GDP growth, and financial inclusion, though
challenges persist, such as infrastructure deficits and unequal access to financial
services. This has led to an unusual collection of papers with conflicting ideas, methodologies, and language. Our scientometric study provides the first comprehensive overview of AIS cognitive bias research. Through a systematic literature scan of the top 15 AIS sources over a 20-year period, we identified 102 papers related to cognitive bias. Our content analysis further revealed a significant increase in interest in cognitive bias research in AIS disciplines over the time period studied. However, there is an uneven distribution of this research across different AIS domains and industry settings. Although AIS has benefited from the study of perception and decision biases, there is still untapped potential in studying social biases, memory, and interest. Our work highlights gaps in AIS-related bias research and the need for more consistent bias identification and measurement practices. We are committed to conducting further research to promote the growth of cumulative knowledge in this area
2025-01-02T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 https://proceeding.unmuhjember.ac.id/index.php/issh/article/view/657 ANALYSIS OF TARGET COSTING IMPLEMENTATION IN COST CONTROL FOR PROFIT OPTIMIZATION 2024-12-29T08:51:31+07:00 Hanum Maulidah [email protected] Zaenuddin Imam [email protected] Adytira Rachman [email protected]
The application of cost accounting and target costing in optimizing profits has a very big role. Using logistic regression analysis, this study involved 42 manufacturing companies in the consumer goods sector selected through purposive sampling technique. The results showed that audit tenure and audit fees had a significant effect on audit quality, while client company size did not show a significant effect. This finding indicates that longer auditor engagement periods and higher audit fees can improve audit quality, but company size is not a determining factor. In addition, Hosmer and Lemeshow's Goodness of Fit Test and the -2 Log Likelihood value indicate that the model used in this study is acceptable and fits the observational data. Rahayu Citra Mandiri, using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as a theoretical framework. TAM suggests that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are key determinants of users' attitudes and intentions, which ultimately impact actual technology usage. Data was collected through a survey of 58 employees, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Warp PLS was used for data analysis. Results indicate that both perceived usefulness and ease of use have significant direct effects on actual technology usage, while also indirectly influencing it through intention to use. Perceived ease of use emerged as particularly impactful, underscoring the importance of user-friendly technology for encouraging consistent adoption. Intention to use was found to mediate the relationship between perceived usefulness and actual use, as well as between perceived ease of use and actual use, reinforcing its role as a critical intermediary in the adoption process. These findings suggest that PT. Rahayu Citra Mandiri can optimize digital marketing technology usage by enhancing the perceived benefits and ease of use for employees, thereby fostering a stronger intention to adopt and regularly utilize these tools. The COVID-19 pandemic impacts have forced the franchise industry to look forward to a long-term survival strategy that ensures business viability and sustainability. Therefore, to assure economic sustainability, a crisis-resistant franchisee survival model is in dire need. The study examined the franchisee survival business support during a crisis. Financial and non-financial business support is gained through strategic alliances from various stakeholders that acted as external factors, which have become their survival strategy to steering up the businesses from the potential pitfalls. This paper offers an important new theoretical construct of franchisee survival in a crisis context – linking to the external support and franchisee survival. The study fills the gap in understanding franchisee survival during the crisis through government and franchisor support. This strategic alliance from external parties is found to be significant for franchisees to know how to manage this external environment into their favorable terms through legal institution, franchisee's resources and capability, and competitive advantage.
